Cole was the darkest reverse
brindle I had ever seen and I fell in love with him the minute I saw him.
We were looking for a show prospect male and my dear friend Shan Shiver
of Shandown Kennel had promised us a puppy out of this litter. There were
only two pups in the litter, one flashy boy and one plain boy. When they
were 12 weeks old we went to see them. I knew we wanted a boy to show but
there was little black Cole and I had to have him. He had the most beautiful
black eyes I've ever seen. At the time
you rarely saw a plain boxer being shown so we brought both pups home.
Cole was shown sparingly, owner handled, and always won his class.
Cole became ill and was diagnosed
with bacterial endocarditis. The damage to his heart was already severe
and he went into congestive heart failure. After three months of treatment
and his condition continuing to deteriorate we made the decision to end
his suffering. Cole was sent to the Bridge 6 days after his sixth birthday.
We still miss that little black face terribly.
