In early 1995 I contacted Shan
Shiver of Shandown Kennel about purchasing a show prospect puppy. That
call began a wonderful friendship with a fantastic lady who has taught
me so much about the boxer breed. She became not only my mentor but one
of my dearest friends, gladly sharing
her knowledge from 50 years of owning boxers. Shan put us in touch with
a lady that had a litter out of her CH. Shandown's
Talk O'the Town and we purchased Roxi
to be our foundation. She was shown sparingly owner handled. In 1997 we
bred Roxi to our Jordan, it was a tight line breeding that produced a litter
of six, four of which were flashy brindle girls. We kept one girl, GoGo.
We planned to breed Roxi again
in 1998 and I had searched for the right dog to breed her to. I had narrowed
it down to a couple of boys and was waiting for her to come in season again.
At thre and a half years old she was diagnosed with a spinal cord tumor
that paralyzed her rear and we had to let her go.
