1994-1998 SAAB 900 Do It Yourself
I am planning to put
some helpful information here on some issues that can easily be fixed by handy
SAAB drivers.
I will start with
some things I have done myself, and then add common issues.
Also check the NG900 board on http://www.saabnet.com/
Michel Briand
a frequent poster on the NG900 board
has a DIY page with many good procedures here:
Additional info can
be found in the Haynes manual or getting an http://www.alldatadiy.com/ subscription. I’m not affiliated
with either, but I have gotten useful information from both.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a SAAB mechanic, I don’t play one on TV, and I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. (People watching commercials in the US will understand). This means that following these instructions does not guarantee success. I’m simply showing what I did hoping it may help someone do it themselves. I can take no responsibility for other people working on their cars.
The
work is done on a 1997 900SE 2.0T. Some things might apply to the 2.3l engine,
but not the V6.
