0108020209 – Wanchese Franklin

Wanchese first appears in the 1900 Iredell County, North Carolina census in the household of his widowed mother, Dorcas, as the youngest child, age 10 months, and born in July, 1899.  The only problem is the name is stated as Glen W.  On his World War I draft registration card, dated September 12, 1918, Wanchese states he was born July 31, 1899, and was living with his mother at 126 Spring Street in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  This is the same address provided by his brother, Harter, on his registration card.  He says he is a shop clerk for the Norfolk and Western Railroad.  Glen W. and Wanchese are undoubtedly the same person.
