01110203 – John E.

In late May or early June, 1882 just north of Perham in Otter Tail County, Minnesota, John beat, stabbed, and shot two men in a grizzly double homicide, apparently on a whim to rob them. He was 15 years old. He was seen after the murders wearing new clothes. He was captured a few days later in Bismark, North Dakota and brought back to Perham. He confessed to the killings and described them in detail. One night soon thereafter in Perham, John Trivett was lynched (68).
