Elizabeth (Bess) was born December 6, 1905, according to her death certificate. She was a graduate of Pikeville College and was a school teacher in Pike County. She had been married to and divorced from Charles Bond. The marriage lasted only a few weeks, and she apparently never remarried. She died January 6, 1948 in Pike County, Kentucky of cancer. Her father, Joseph Montgomery Trivette, was also seriously ill from cancer and died February 26, 1948.
