Evelyn Swinney Trivette, 89, of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday, August 2, 2006 in King’s Daughters Medical Center.

 

She was born Jan. 7, 1917, on Greenup Avenue in Ashland, a daughter of the late Riley Anderson and Josie Manning Swinney.

 

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde A. Trivette in 1993; brothers, Wayne Swinney and William Riley Swinney; sisters, Hazel Swint, Lorene Green, and Adria Salyer.

 

Surviving are three sisters, Imogene Young of Parsons, W.Va., Ernestine Stevens of Flatwoods, Ky., and Belva Stewart of Ashland; two sons, Tom, of Baton Rouge, La., and James of Marietta, Ga.; and two grandsons.

 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Gene Pillow of First United Methodist Church.  Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum beside her late husband.

 

At her request, there will be no visitation.

 

In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the First United Methodist Church, 1811 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
