This is Cora Keesee Trivette’s undated obituary, probably from The Ashland Daily Independent newspaper.  At some point after Thomas’ death she married a man named C. B. Peters.  Family stories say that marriage did not last.

Mrs. Cora Peters Succumbs After Long Illness

 

Mrs. Cora L. Peters, 52, a native of Pike County, Kentucky, died Tuesday at 1:10pm at the home of her son, Clyde Trivette, 2244 Greenup Avenue, after an illness of more than two years.

 

Mrs. Peters was a daughter of W. L. Keesee and had lived with her son since last June.  She was a member of the Centenary Baptist Church.

 

Surviving are the father, the son, and four sisters, Mrs. Stella Morrison, Mrs. Ollie Taylor, Mrs. Dora Wells, and Mrs. Cordelia McCoy, all of Pike County.

 

The body has been removed from Yelton Funeral Home to the son’s residence.  Tomorrow morning the body will be taken to her former home at Virgie, Kentucky for funeral services.  Burial will be in the family cemetery there.

Actually, she was buried in Roberts’ Family Cemetery in Jonancy, Kentucky beside her first husband, Thomas Jefferson Trivette.
