A marriage bond was entered for T.M.B. Mercer and Mollie Trivett. He was a 21 year old teacher born in Wise County, Virginia. She was 18 years old. They were married on January 17, 1907 (52).

Babe died on March 25, 1982 in Boyd County, Kentucky, age 93 years (45). Family members told me that she was not formally given a first name until age five or six. She was always referred to as “Babe.” She was asked what she would like to be called, and she said “Mollie.” The nickname Babe stuck with her throughout her life.

Babe was married a second time to Apollos Garnett. She is buried with Apollos in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Bellefonte, Kentucky.
