Funeral service was held Monday, January 22 in Newark, NJ for Mrs.
Massie Page Campbell, native of South Carolina. She was the wife
of Mr. Alfonso Campbell.
Rev. T. J. Johnson of Bennettsville died last Saturday, January 20th in
Lumberton, NC. Rev. Johnson pastored New Hope Baptist Church for five
years. Funeral service will be January 24th at Sandy Grove Baptist
Church, Bennettsville, SC

Magdalene Moore Column:
Joint funerals were held Sunday, March 4th in Millbranch Baptist Church
for Miss Alice Cox, 100 years old and Mr. Josh Barr, 91 years old.
Eulogy was by Rev. B. J. Jones for them. Miss Alice Cox was the
daughter of the late Mr. Sam Cox and Mrs. Yankie Cox of Dillon
County. Her survivors are one brother, Mr. Hector Cox of Latta;
two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Evans of the home, Mrs. Adlene Evans of Latta.
Sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jeanette Cox, Mrs. Jannie Cox of Latta, Mrs.
Pearline Cox of New York City.
Mr. Josh Ladson Barr, son of the late Katie Barr of Dillon County was
married to Rosie. Three children were born, one preceded him to
the grave. Survivors; two children, Maggie and Earleen.

funeral of his sister, Mrs. Leola McLloyd. Her aunts, Mrs. Hattie
Wade, Mrs. Ida Inmond and uncle Erus Bethea of SC expressed their
sympathy.

Thursday morning at Palmetto General Hospital, Marion. The child

Mrs. Gibbs died in Golden Years Nursing Home. She was a lovely
person, was well known by both white and black, a faithful church
worker and a member
of the U.O. of Tents of Latta.
