My Teaching Credentials - I attended college at the University of Florida where I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. I earned my Teacher's Certifcation from Stetson. This is my 14th year teaching. I have taught third and fourth grade.. I am proud to say that all my teaching years have been spent at Ft. McCoy School.
My Teaching Philosophy - Over 2500 years ago, Lao Tzu wrote, " A leader is best when people barely know he exists, not so good when they obey and acclaim him, worst when they despise him. But of a good leader, who talks little when the job done, the aim fullfilled, they will say, 'We did this ourselves'. "
My Background - I was born in North Carolina but spent my childhood in western Pennsylvania. My family moved to Florida when I was in middle school. I attended middle school, high school and my first year of college in Boca Raton, Florida. My parents moved to Ocala after visiting Gainesville while I was in college there. I moved to Ocala while I was going to school learning to be a teacher. I was going to school part-time at Stetson College in Deland. On my days off I would substitute teach in Marion County. My mom and dad still live in Ocala. In fact, they live right down the street from me!
