This repeater is located on Bearwallow Mountain in Henderson County, NC, at an elevation of 4,245 feet above sea level.  It was placed in service on June 6, 1998.

The WA4TOG repeater on Bearwallow Mountain in Henderson County, NC, and the N4DTR repeater on Utah Mountain in Waynesville, NC are now linked as part of

the Great Smokies Repeater Network.

 From Henderson County, use 442.450/447.450.  From Haywood County, use 444.450/449.450.  Both repeaters cover parts of Buncombe County.

The repeater is a Yaesu Vertex VRX-5000 with 25 watts output.  A VXD-40UB duplexer and a Diamond X-500HNA vertical antenna.

This repeater's primary function is emergency communications and is sponsored by

the NC Telephone Pioneers Amateur Radio Society (NC TPARS).

The secondary function is for the enjoyment of amateur radio and ragchewing.
