PAIN IS UNIVERSAL
I see you're broken hearted, though you bravely carry on.
You smile and appreciate my desire to sympathize.
Still, you feel within your heart that we don't really understand.
"No one does, how could they, they're not walking in my shoes.
Breaking in this brand new pair makes blisters on my mind.
They care, they truly do and that does lighten my load; but when alone with my thoughts, the torments rush back in."
I can hardly catch my breath, how could this be happening to ME?
Standing in the check-out line, driving down the street, how can things be the same?
Can't they see the crises I'm in? I'm A Person On The Edge!
Like the old song,  "Why do the stars go on shining?
Why does the sea rush to shore?
Don't they know it's the end of the world?""
As trite as it may sound right now, 'This too shall pass.'
No, you won't look back and laugh.
Even though you'll be a new person and what you're going through right now will seldom come to mind, you won't disrespect the person that you are now.
Change is revolution.
Revolution is upheaval.
Pain is universal.
A cut is not the same as a break.
Maybe right now my pain is only a cut next to the brokeness of your pain.
This is as it should be.
If we were both broken, who would do the lifting up?
Remember that God knows your every thought and feels your every pain.
The tears streaming down your face are His tears.
Ask Him to calm your mind and heart, He will.

I wrote this many years ago and have given it to several people in various forms when I felt that they were in a broken-hearted way.
See the butterfly at the top of the page?  This represents you after you've grown through this life experience.   I know this from my own experience.
Words to Ponder
