Editor's Notes

First of all, I thank you for viewing my site. I hope you'll enjoy it enough to come back and bring a friend.
The purpose for Sondance is to give me a voice and a creative outlet.
Secondly, to share my love for Jesus with other's.

Here are a few suggestions for getting the most out of viewing this site:
These pages, backgrounds, etc. have been created in my favorite settings of '1024 X 768' in 'Windows XP'.   I ftp and view the pages on Internet Explorer.
That's the only way you'll see this as I, personally, view it.
In case this is 'Greek' to you, go to your 'Control Panel' (in 'Start') or right click your desktop when no programs are running and click 'Properties at the bottom of the little pop-up and click on 'Display'.
Click on 'Settings' and in the 'Screen Resolution' section, click on the lines until you have '1024 X 768', click on 'Apply' and after it turns white, click on 'OK'.

'Sondance' is my original page for my site but it's position has changed over time and is directly behind Sondance ~ Welcome!.
I've divided the site into sections with their own cover pages to simplify somewhat.
'My Novelettes/Short Stories' is my newest section.   I'm sharing small books that I write for you, my friends.   I hope you'll enjoy them with an open mindedness that I'm a very amateur writer.   At 62, I discovered a way of writing that gives me the freedom to write the way I've always wanted to without the hard restrictions that writing teachers tend to put on us.   I just get a single sentence in my mind and write it down and add a thought to that and on and on until I actually have a little story going.   At my age, you can imagine the worries that tend to steal my joy but when I write, I'm discovering places in my mind that have heretofore been unexplored.   You may want to try this and see if it fits you.
'Memories & Musings' has my own (or guest) writings.

I redid my site in March 2011 and have downsized it in order to accomodate my stories which is my most important section for now.   Now and then, I exchange one section for another that I keep offline and rearrange to freshen the site up.   These pages are mostly poetry, spiritual or even personal pages.

Although I believe this is a fine website, we aren't allowed to do very much fancy stuff but that's okay, there's a lot that we can do and still have an interesting site.
In case you haven't discovered the benefits of the top key, F11, it makes your page lose the boundaries when viewing a page online.   A full view of a page is sometimes beneficial.   F11 is a 'toggle' key meaning that you hit it once to turn it on and again to turn it off.
Although many of my pages have my own work on it, some of my poems, pictures and writings, etc. have been gleaned from books, emails, etc.   I haven't created any of the midi's (background music).
I realize that not everyone will be able to view my site with the same view that I have, our computers are different with different programs and speeds.   I hope it looks good enough on your computer that you'll enjoy it and return and share with your friends.

I do not have spys, ads, counters, or even a brought on guest book to get into your computer.
I cannot speak for the sites leading from this one however.
You should always use a program to rid your computer of spys after being online even if you have a firewall.
My son told me about a program and I've begun using it after going online.   It's called ccleaner and it's free.   You just go to ccleaner.com and download it for free.
You can go through the whole thing initially, being careful not to uninstall anything that you want to keep for the function of your computer.   After that, just take off the files that are bogging down your computer.
I like to share the good things with you to give you more safe browsing.   I use a firewall/virus protector that I like better than any I've used.   It's called COMODO Pro and it's free.   You can probably get the download from their site.   I don't know, I've gotten the one that I have from the FileHippo.com site that downloads free stuff.   While this thing is in the learning of your computer mode, it'll agravate you, jumping in and telling you what's going on.   You just hang in there and be very careful and read whatever it's trying to warn you about.   It knows more about the internet than you do and is trying to protect you from the creepy people out there wanting to take over your computer for their own malicious purposes.
I'm sure we all have stories about when we were first starting out of the things that were hurting our computers.   Hopefully, we wise up and are able to care for our computers more as we go along.
Remember, the computer isn't some way out mysterious thing that can't be learned.   Read books, take advantage of free short courses offered at libraries, etc.   Most of all hands-on experience is the best teacher.   You'll make mistakes but that doesn't hurt anything.   We learn mostly from our own mistakes.
Keep up maintenance on your computer and you'll have long service from it!
Give yourself the freedom to learn at your own pace, don't try to keep up with others.

I'm not a quick person but have an inquiring mind so I've learned different things on my own that you may already know. It doesn't take much to be smarter than I am.
If you would like to take advantage of what I'm learning as I hope you'll share with the rest of us what you're learning, I'll be happy to share a little now and then.
It's the little things that make life more fun, don't you think?
I've discovered that when you put a .jpg or other than .gif on your desktop, it'll stay in the behind screen that you see when coming on or going off.
If you put a .gif on your desktop, the previous picture that wasn't a .gif will be the one that you'll see when you're coming on or going off.
Not a biggie, but it did puzzle me for a long time. A .gif isn't really a clear picture, it won't even show up on some programs.
In case you're not aware of the necessity of .gif's, it's the picture that cuts off the surroundings of the actual picture that you want.   I create them all the time in my Paint.net program that I got for free online, (FileHippo.com).

Thank you, God bless, Ora Lea Harrison
