In February we lost our dear club brother Jack H.  Jack embodied the threefold spirit of the T.L.T. in all that he accomplished in his professional career and in his personal life.  He had only been with us for a couple of years, but he shall be in our hearts forever.

OFFICIAL MEETINGS: 

Tennessee Leather Tribe holds weekly Sunday meetings (hallelujah!), alternating between Molly's La Casita and Bayou Bar & Grill, both in midtown Memphis near Overton Square.  Friends and visitors are welcome; contact us for more details.

The Tennessee Leather Tribe colors consist of a teal-colored silhouette of the State of Tennessee superimposed on an inverted triangular depiction of the Leather Pride Flag, against a beige oval background with the title of the club encircling it.

The teal color of the Tennessee silhouette calls to mind the hills and forests for which the state is famous.  The inverted triangle is a reference to the pink and black triangles used in Nazi concentration camps of World War II to denote gay male and lesbian prisoners. The leather pride flag consists of alternating black and blue stripes with a white stripe in the center, and a red heart in the upper left-hand corner. Black symbolizes the heavy leather/SM contingent, the blue Levi/denim, and the white the unity of the two. The red heart symbolizes the loving bond of brotherhood of those in the scene.

Optionally, a gold star in the southwest corner of the Tennessee silhouette indicates the city of Memphis, our home.

 In addition, we have started using a better, more striking Emblem for our club (at the top of the this page and on the entrance page), as a way of forging ahead into our 20th year without replacing our colors entirely.  It consists of the center of the state of Tennessee flag on a red circular field.  The red symbolizes courage; the blue center, brotherhood; and the stars not only denote the three main divisions of the state and Tennessee and their unity, but the unity of the individual members of Tennessee Leather Tribe.  The gold laurel boughs symbolize the spoils of victory that reward bravery and fidelity.

Full membership in T.L.T. is limited to gay and lesbian adults (age 21 or older) who live in the Memphis, Tennessee metropolitan area and who do not currently hold full membership in any similar organization.

Persons who wish to affiliate with T.L.T. but do not desire full membership, or are ineligible, are invited to apply for associate membership.  Associates are regarded as the club's immediate family of supporters.  They receive an associate patch and many membership benefits.
