IN MEMORY OF

ELAINE FRANCES BROWN

1949 ~ 2003

        Elaine Frances Brown, age 53, 521 Henrico Road, died 12:30 AM Sunday, August10, 2003 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born August 17, 1949 in Harrodsburg she was the daughter of Dessie Vandyke Brown and the late George Thomas Brown. She was a 1967 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, an office manager for Joy Temporary Services of Harrodsburg, a former employee of Corning Glass Works of Harrodsburg, and a member of the Centennial Baptist Church.

          Survivors other than her mother include one daughter, Kim and her husband Marcus Hawkins, Danville; one sister Vanessa Stokes, Harrodsburg, three grandchildren Xerces Simpson, Brooklyn Hawkins, and Leroy Hawkins all of Danville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

          Funeral services were conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at the Centennial Baptist Church by Elder J.D. Short, III. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, August 12, 2003 from 6 until 8 PM and Wednesday prior to the service at the Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Parks Funeral Home of Harrodsburg. Memorials were suggested to the Elaine Brown Memorial Fund in care of Parks Funeral Home in Harrodsburg.

          Pallbearers were Otis W. Ford, Carl Bartleson, Larry Gayton, Gus Parks, Chester Grundy, and Sam Bess.

          Honorary bearers were: Shea Ford and Johnny Bowman
