SHIRLEY B. BURRUS

1950 ~ 2003

   

Shirley B. Burrus, age 52, 429 West Broadway, died Friday, February 14, 2003 at her home. Born April 10, 1950 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Alice Chenault Burrus. She was a graduate of Kentucky State University, a factory worker for Reliance Corporation in Lawrenceburg, and a member of the Centennial Baptist Church.

          Leaving behind to cherish her memories include a son, William “Dude” White, Lexington; a brother Harrison (and Valarie) Burrus J

r., Lexington; four sisters, Margaret A. Burrus, Harrodsburg, Anita Burrus, Louisville, Gertrude Burrus and Charlotte Burrus, both of Lexington; two uncles, Charles and Lambert Burrus both of Louisville; an aunt, Mary Evelyn Chenault of Mercer Co.; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

          Funeral services were conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2002 at the Centennial Baptist Church conducted by Elder J.D. Short, III. Visitation was from 11:00 AM Tuesday until the hour of service. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery (Sec. K, Lot 27, Grave # 2).        

Pallbearers were: Dr. Mikel Robinson, Phillip VanDyke, James Bryant, Glen Walker, Harvey Chenault, and Dave Chenault.

          Arrangements were entrusted to Parks Funeral Home, Inc. of Harrodsburg
