IN MEMORY OF

ANITA LOUISE COVINGTON

1947 ~ 2003

          Anita Louise Reid Covington, age 56, 637 Wren Street, Harrodsburg, wife of Delward Clarence Covington, died Saturday, September 20, 2003 at her residence after a brief illness. Born May 3, 1947 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of E.P. Reid, Harrodsburg and the late Georgia Lee Thompson. She was a 1965 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, was the Office Manager for Joy Temporary Services of Harrodsburg, a former employee of Matsushita of Danville, and was the former executive secretary for the St. Peter AME Church. She was also active with the Roots & Heritage Program, a former member of the West Lane Park Board, a member of the St. Peter AME Church although most recently she attended the Centennial Baptist Church.

          Survivors besides her husband and father include two sons, Harold B. Wilhite, Jr., Cincinnati and Andrew L. Wilhite, Harrodsburg; a brother James E. Johnson, Seoul, Korea, three grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and a special friend, Ruth Ann Bryant, a God Daughter, Ashli Dunn and a dear loving aunt, Bessie Henderson.

          Funeral services were conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at the Centennial Baptist Church by Elder J.D. Short, III. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery (Sec. K, Lot 36, Grave 6). Visitation was Tuesday, September 23, 2003 from 6 until 8 PM and Wednesday, September 24, 2003 from 8:00 AM until the hour of service at the Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Parks Funeral Home of Harrodsburg.

          Pallbearers were Harold Wilhite, Sr., George Wilhite, Andy Harris, Robert Harris, Jim Pittman, and Chris Short.
