Cogar Avenue, Harrodsburg, died Thursday,
October 16, 2003 at the Ephraim
McDowell Regional
Medical Center
after a long illness. Born March 21, 1925 in Mercer County, she was
the daughter of the late George Walter and Alice Coffey Sigar,
she was a retired factory worker for Signet Systems, Inc., Harrodsburg
and a self-employed baby sitter, she was an avid bowler being a member
of the Danville Women’s Bowling League, was a member of the Eastern
Star # 9 – Celestine of Danville, and a member of the Centennial Baptist
Church where she participated in the Church choir and Sunday School
Class.
Survivors include
two nephews, James Sigar, Harrodsburg and
Randy Sigar, Owensboro; a sister-in-law, Opal Sigar,
Harrodsburg, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded
in death by a son, George Howard Walker
Funeral services
were conducted 1:00 pm
Saturday, October 18, 2003
at the Centennial
Baptist Church
by Elder J.D. Short, III. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery(Section
K Lot 17 Grave 1). Visitation was from 6 until 8 pm Friday,
October 17, 2003 at the Parks Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were
Alvis Johnson, Gary Smith, John Smith III, James Sigar, Randy Sigar, and Jesse Thomas.
