Karen Denise Smith, age 33, 3556 Polly’s Bend
Road, Lancaster, formerly of Harrodsburg died Thursday, June 12, 2003
at 11:04 PM at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born October 27,
1969 in Fayette Co. she was the daughter of John W. Smith, III and the
late Alicia Yeast Smith. She was a former employee for Harrod Cleaners
and
Survivors other than
her father include two sons, Justin Smith, Harrodsburg and Aaron Zuniga,
Louisa, KY; one daughter, Chanell Vah of Louisa, KY; two brothers,
Donald Wayne Smith and Scottie Bottoms both of Harrodsburg; paternal
grandfather, John W. Smith, II and paternal step-grandfather Rev. Herman
Bradshaw and paternal grandmother Mary E. Bradshaw, all of Harrodsburg;
a special companion Jose’ Lira, Lancaster; several aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal
grandparents Leroy and Catherine Yeast.
Funeral services were
conducted 11:00 AM Monday, June 16, 2003 at the Centennial Baptist Church
with Elder J.D. Short, III officiating, burial was in the Maple Grove
Cemetery (Section L, Lot 12, Grave 3). Visitation was Sunday, June 15,
2003 from 6 until 8 PM and after 8:00 AM on Monday at the Church. Arrangements
were entrusted to Parks Funeral Home of Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers were Robert
Bean II, Lee and Lewis Payne, Derrick Penman, Nicholas Short and Craig,
Julius, James and Terry Yeast.
