Hugh Reid mentions the following people in his will. Sons George Reid, James Reid and Samuel Reid and 4 daughters Margery Miller, wife of Ebenezer Miller; Margaret Miller, widow of Joseph Miller; Elizabeth Wilson; and Rebecca Barr, wife of Reverend W H Barr. Executor Robert C Wilson, son-in-law and witnessed Mary G Lesly, Hugh Kirkwood and Wm Bowie. Negro Slaves Seca, Malinda, Gaac, Bob Alsed, Jesse and Hannah.

In the Name of God Amen!!
I Hugh Reid of the District of Abbeville in the State of South Carolina, being at an advanced age but of good health, and of sound mind and understanding - Do make and ordain this as my last Will and Testament vis:
1st Item, I will and desire that all my just Debts be paid out of my Estate as soon as possible after my demise.
Item - I give and bequeath to my Son George Reid, my Negro Woman called Seca, and Two hundred dollars in money -
Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Margery Miller wife of Ebenezer Miller Ten dollars - having previously given her a full portion of my Estate.
Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Miller widow of Joseph Miller Dead - One hundred and fifty dollars -
Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Wilson Ten Dollars, having previously given her a full portion of my Estate.
Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Rebecca Barr wife of the Rev'd W H Barr my Negro Girl Malinda on condition that she shall pay to her brother James Reid Twenty five Dollars, not being able to make an equitable distribution without this condition -
Item I give and bequeath to my Son James Reid of the State of Indiana, Union County, one quarter section of land, situated in the said State and County and adjoining the land whereon he is now living, containing one hundred and sixty acres or there about, - to him and his Heirs forever. I also give and bequeath to my said Son James my Negro man called Gaac. Item I give and divine to my Son Samuel Reid all that Tract or body of Land whereon I now live consisting of several adjoining tracts, containing in all about nine hundred acres more or less - to him and his Heirs forever -
I also give and bequeath to my said Son Samuel My Negroes Bob and Alsed? together with Jese and Hanna which I had heretofore given him all the _____ and residue of my Estate of whatever ________________ (line un readable)__________________________ I give and bequeath to my Son Samuel Reid, with the exception of my saddle Horse, which I give and bequeath to my Son James -
And I hereby nominate and appoint my Son Samuel Reid, and my son-in-law Robert C. Wilson Executors of this my last Will and Testament - and I hereby revoke, annul, and disavow, all and other wills, testaments, devices, or bequests by this heretofore render -

Personally appeared William Bowie & Hugh Kirkwood, who being dully sworn, do make Oath & say, that they saw Hugh Reid sign, seal, publish pronounced declare the within to be and contain his true last will & Testament, that Testator was there of sound and disposing mind memory & understanding to the best of the despondents knowledge & belief, & that Mary G. Lesly together with the undersigned their Names as witnesses to the due execution there of in the presence of the Testator & at his Request & in the presence of each other Sworn to & subscribed this 7th Aug. 1829.
