Comeaux's Pipeworks Homepage

L.E. Comeaux, II, a woodcarver from the hills of Tennessee, has been making pipes for approximately 30 years. He has been encouraged by M.O. Vickers and Robert Blackwell, fellow pipe makers from the Knoxville area. His intricately carved pieces have won several honors, among them recognition by the Brotherhood of Master Pipemakers in Saint-Claude, France; best free-hand in the 1986 PCI show; second place in carving at the 1986 and 1987 Blade Super Show; and WKNO TV Arts and Antiques auction award for honorable mention and second place in best art.

L.E.'s freehand, conventional, and sculptured pipes bear his  logo. Using standard hand tools, he fashions the bowls from Grecian briar and the stems from vulcanite and lucite. He sells his production of 100-250 pipes a year by mail, through smokeshops, and at shows for $35 to $2000.

L.E. Comeaux proves once again that Intense enjoyment accompanies both the creation and the use of smoking pipes, for he experiences his work as a personal expression of beauty as well as a relaxing and enjoyable activity.
