                       Hard at work, reflecting

I am an ordained elder in the Mississippi Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, currently beginning my sixth year at the Woodville and Macedonia UMCs, Wilkinson County, Mississippi. My academic background is primarily in history (BA,MA, PhD) and in divinity (MDiv, Memphis Theological Seminary and MTS studies, Spring Hill College).

I am married, have four children (3 boys and one girl) and four grandchildren.

Hobbies:

I began woodcarving in September 2005, taking lessons with the Pelican Woodcarvers Guild in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have since enjoyed several classes through the club, most notably a seminar on carving cypress knees led by Carol Jean Boyd of Montgomery, Alabama, in December 2005. As the pictures indicate, I am still learning, especially in the painting part.
