Steve and his friend Mark. Steve is wearing my old blue Infantry Cord, has his trousers bloused into his Corcoran Jump Boots, as only paratroopers are allowed to do in their dress uniform. Paratroopers also wear the Maroon Beret. Steve will earn his Green Beret when he completes Special Forces training. While in training, he wears the shoulder patch, beret flash, and Jump Wing backing of the JFK Special Warfare Center at Fort Bragg, where he is assigned while undergoing Special Forces training. Steve's rank insignia is that of PFC (Private First Class). He got that rank when he initially joined the Army due to his participation in ROTC during his couple of years in college.
