Biographical: James farmed and started his family near Fayetteville, Ga. He then moved to Houston County, near Roberta, Ga. His land eventually became part of Crawford County, Ga. The old homeplace has been torn down, but the family cemetery still exists in good condition. He and other members of his family are buried there. James served in the CSA during the civil war with the Georgia State Guards, 8th Bn Cavalry, Co. B.
