Alec Reeves - A brilliant English scientist who obtained the first patent on a digital transmission technique in 1937, long before technology was available to implement it (he went on to obtain over 100 patents in his lifetime). It was not until the transistor was invented that it was possible to build devices based on his discovery. Alec akso perfected an amazing precision bomb technique in World War II that helped English bombers destroy their targets at night. The story of this extraordinary and somewhat eccentric Reeves, called “The Father of the Information Age,” is worth reading.
