Various sock yarns of nine different colors, US #0 bamboo dpns and 64 stitches around. For the leg, 2.5mm dpns were used. I collected fallen leaves and tried to reproduce the color juxtapositions I saw in them.
I purposely made these socks fraternal because I wanted to keep trying different yarns together and still keep my sanity. I found that lengths of each yarn were way easier for me to handle. This means working in the ends as you knit, but is still easier than trying to keep skeins untangled. Marilyn's original design used two rounds of each color. Taking advantage of ITR knitting, each round of these socks is a different color.
