The yarn is Socka, knitted on US #1 1/2 bamboo dpns and 56 stitches. After the heel, I increased 4 stitches to have an even number of repeats, making a total of 60 stitches. I also went up a needle size for the leg.

The pattern is Stitch #50, which seemed rather uninspired. I borrowed the name from Barbara Walker's book Sampler Knitting. This pattern was easy to visualize and understand, however it was not so easy to knit a round at a time. I finally realized that the focus kept shifting as the cubes "moved" across the fabric. For this reason, I've made a large graph with the pattern repeat outlined.
