A Legendary Muscle Car

"In September 1966, General Motors stepped into the ponycar ring with a model destined for greatness.  Sleek and svelte, with a short decklid and a long nose that hinted at it's European inspiration, the Chevy Camaro looked fast even when it was sitting still.  With a wide variety of potent engine offerings available right from the start, it backed up its looks with plenty of muscle."

"Powerful, stylish, affordable, and infinitely adaptable, the Camaro quickly established itself as the thoroughbred of American ponycars.  For more than thirty years, it has remained a cornerstone of the Chevrolet lineup and a favorite of high-performance enthusiasts all over the world.  With a huge aftermarket supply of parts available, early Camaros in pristine condition--as well as models that are customized and tuned for peak performance--are a common sight in garages and driveways, on the streets, and on the drag strip." (Dietzler, 1999)

This is my tribute to the Camaro and its different body styles.  I hope that the information and pictures provided in this site help you appreciate one of the major stepping stones in American muscle cars today.
