WHERE
THE PAST MEETS THE PRESENT
Hi. My name is Danny Curtsinger and I am the curator of J.F.C. Museum. I started collecting rocks as a 4 year old kid in Indiana, and shortly after my family moved to Kentucky. I was fascinated by all of the rocks and artifacts that I found and I never stopped collecting.
When I first stepped into the old Curtsinger archery building the ceiling
was caved in and there was no electricity. I was going to use the building
as storage for my collections, but soon I had people stopping by and looking
at the rocks I had in the bed of my pickup. That's when I decided to open
a museum to showcase my collections. I named the museum after my father Joe
Francis Curtsinger (JFC) who had helped my gather the tons of rock.
Now, I have 57 glass showcases and am still expanding. My collecting has since
spanned to Civil War memorabilia, antiques, stamps, and various other artifacts.
My purpose in maintaining the museum is to try to learn more about the artifacts
and collectibles that I have gathered and to teach others in the process.
