No stranger to eastern mountain scenery Norfolk Southern looks right at home on its recently acquired property in central Pennsylvania. What with NS predecessor road Norfolk and Western once being a subsidiary of the Pennsy this familiarity goes beyond common scenery, a good example being the ancient position light signals that until recently still exist at a number of installations here and on NS lines to the south.
Climb aboard as we head west from the Harrisburg area stopping in at some of the notable locations along the way and ending up on the other side of the mountain in Pittsburgh.
