Workers at Addison Steel Win N.L.R.B. Election

On February 19, 2003 the workers at the Addison Steel Facility in Orlando, Florida voted to have the Iron Workers represent them by a vote of 31 yes to 12 no. Local 698 filed a petition on the employees behalf with the National Labor Relations Board and will represent the workers in negotiations. Addison Steel is a part of Schuff International, one of the largest steel fabricators in North America. Welcome to our new brothers and sisters.

Apprentice Competition Set for June in Tampa

The annual "Outstanding Apprentice" competition will be hosted by local 397 of Tampa between June 9th and 12th, 2004. Amoung the events that are rod tying, instrument reading and layout, welding, cutting, knot tying and the column climb. The winner of this event will go on to compete in the International competition held every two years.
