January 2003 Newsletter ArticleOn December 10, 2002 we had a very productive annual meeting at the Ocean Springs Singing River Hospital Library. The main topics included: setting the budget and dues assessment, election of officers and review of accomplishments during 2002. A summary of the work efforts of the Officers, volunteer committees and Architectural Review Board opened the meeting. The next order of business was a review of the 2002 budget to-date and the consideration of the 2003 budget and annual dues assessment. The proposed budget was reviewed. With projected finances of $8000.00 remaining at the close of 2002, the annual dues were voted to remain at $75.00. The 2003 budget is presented for your reference. The proposed budget for 2003 reflected the increase costs projected in lawn care, maintenance, and liability/property insurance. The Landscaping/Enhancement Fund was also increased to reflect the interest expressed in acquiring street signs similar to Magnolia Bayou. The proposed budget was increased from $12,850.00 for year 2002 to $15,850.00 for year 2003. The deficit in the proposed budget will be made up from the excess funds in the BPOA checking and saving accounts. The next order of business was the election of officers and ARB representatives. Incumbent officers and ARB reps ran for re-election. David Oswalt was re-elected President, Mart Windham was elected Vice President, Ann Utterback was re-elected Treasurer, and Dana Wineski was re-elected Secretary. The Architectural Review Board members re-elected were Gary Freeman and Don Smith and new member Mitch Jahner . Our association once again shows healthy signs with the newly elected Board and ARB members -these are many of the individuals who volunteered their time and knowledge during the past year to enhance our Association. |
