Loose Dogs

A resident recently e-mailed us expressing their frustration with dogs roaming the neighborhood. They wanted to know what the Association could do to help.

Fortunately, Ocean Springs has a leash law for both dogs and cats. If you observe a pet running freely, you can call the Animal Control Officer of the Police Department, who will charge the owner with a misdemeanor offense that carries a $95 fine. If the owner is not available and the pet can be captured, the Officer will likely impound the animal. Since this is regulated and controlled by the city, we do not believe that the Association should intervene — other than raise awareness.

Communication Guidelines

In order to facilitate better communication within the Association, we would like to provide a question and answer column for general interest topics and publish editorial comments written by members. The editorial comments need not be in agreement with the Board, but we hope the letters will be constructive and suitable for a general audience. We will print only signed editorials meeting these guidelines.

You may submit your questions and editorials by mail (Bienville Place Owners Association, PO Box 71, Ocean Springs, MS 39566-0071) or e-mail (souers@datasync.com). You may also communicate directly with the Board — just make sure you clearly indicate that you do not want it published. We look forward to hearing your questions and comments.

Feel free to ask questions or provide feedback--we want to hear from you.
