New Moon in Cancer: July 2, at 10:19 p.m. Eastern Time
Full Moon in Capricorn: July 18, at 3:59 a.m. Eastern Time

Aries:

This new moon will challenge you to balance home versus work. You’re probably thinking of ways to make your home more “homey” and at the same time you see opportunities to expand your professional horizons. When focusing on your home, fix it up in such a way as to reflect your overall mood. Perhaps a little touch of the sentimental is in order as well as a touch of some element of water. If you’re working on one room at a time, focus your attention on the kitchen, bathrooms, storage areas and perhaps laundry room, in that order. When it comes to the career, as much as you folks like to take the spontaneous, feels-good-at-the-moment approach, your better bet is to look down the road long term. Consider how these opportunities serve you in a couple of years, not within the next few months. Be aware that your writing skills are at a high right now, so put them to work early in the cycle. By the time the 10th comes along, you can expect your mind to be much more active late at night. As of the 13th, you have a better grasp of color as well as location of objects within the home. And this marks a brief cycle of play, which ends shortly after the next new moon. Those work-related opportunities are more likely to come to a head right around the full moon on the 17th. Remember that you’re in a workaholic state right now, so it will be important to pace yourself. Don’t expect your colleagues to keep up with you and, by all means, look up that nasty word “patience” in the dictionary, and apply it to your relationship with co-workers.

Taurus:

Which is cheaper, flying or driving? The answer might very well be the latter. Yes, it seems you’re pondering where to place your body, geographically speaking. The urge to move about is most definitely in the air – it’s just a matter of where. If you’re thinking about family then you might be driving, but if you’re thinking fun and adventure, head to the airport. If for some reason you opt for neither and decide to stay home, make good use of the telephone, the Internet and the post office. The library might also look pretty appealing, as you seem to have a hunger to feed the mind. History seems to be appealing, and perhaps politics. No matter what your focus, stay in close contact with family. It will mean a lot to them to know they’re on your mind, even if they won’t admit it! Do financial homework early in the month since travel momentum is most likely to increase by the 10th. Your curiosity appears quite healthy these days. If you’ve heavily invested in business, you might consider taking a class, since your mind is so hungry for knowledge. Look into business models adopted by foreign countries and companies. This will give you some good ideas as to where to put your energy and your assets. Don’t let delays discourage you; they’re just a minor test of your commitment. And if you start obsessing over the “what ifs,” reflect briefly on the lessons learned from the past and then quickly move on. There’s no need to get bogged down in things you cannot change.

Gemini:

It’s time to invest in your home. Be prepared to stumble upon just the right items that will make your house more of a home than simply a place to live. Your moods or inner instincts will most likely tell you where to stop to find that perfect piece, so enjoy snooping around. When not out and about spending that hard earned dough, this is a good time to organize your finances. As strange it may sound, the type of container in which you organize and store your documentation is as important as the process itself. The actual expenditures are more likely to occur as of the 10th. You have permission to put off the organizing until as late as the 25th. If your friends are wondering why you’re spending so much energy at home, you might be tempted to tell them that you’re vying for the Good Housekeeping Award, or else just tell them Mars is in your solar 4th House in Virgo, hence the urge for everything to look just perfect. No doubt you’ll be a cleaning freak, and as you do so, you might as well keep pen and paper handy, because you’ll probably stumble upon other improvement jobs in the process. Even though you like the idea of company and someone to talk to, your standards are so high right now that no one could possibly do the job the way you like. So tell company they’re free to come over and watch you slave, but that’s about it. When you’re ready for a rest from all this work, move that pen and paper close to your bedside. Your dreams are not exactly drab these days. Look for hints on how to run your life in a more pragmatic fashion, including financial ideas. This surge in subconscious activity is more likely to arise during the full moon cycle.

Cancer:

With the new moon in your sign, your own needs take priority. The ball is most certainly in your own court, so whether it’s tending to the home, your looks, your family or your community, don’t let anything stop you. Whatever you do, don’t feel like you have to play the martyr. It’s perfectly fitting to have fun in the process and pour much love into it. Intellectually speaking you might feel more reflective in the early stage of this cycle. But around the 10th, you’ll feel like you’re on much firmer footing. Plan on increased income, starting around the 13th. You can hold off until late month before deciding what to do with your newly found wealth. While at home, organize paperwork as well as your library collection. Outside the domestic arena, be aware that legal matters are working in your favor right now. So if you’re looking at entering into contracts of any sort, you’ll be well protected. If siblings are a part of your life, they could benefit from picking your brain in your areas of expertise. Just remember to be patient, because the chances are you’re speaking an entirely different language and they may feel like they’re in kindergarten. Give them praise for what they get right so they don’t give up.

Leo:

As a rule you folks crave the limelight, proudly strutting your stuff. However, for this particular cycle you’re better off taking the low-keyed approach, since this is the last new moon prior to the one in your own sign. Give yourself time for regrouping and reflection, getting your ducks in a row for the next cycle, where you’ll be better poised to take center stage. Granted, you may feel as though you’re being guided more by moods and instincts, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s your subconscious’ way of telling you what you need to heed in order to get your act together. Expenditures have a greater chance of popping up, particularly those born out of necessity – the time to squander has yet to arrive. To the extent that you do spend money, invest in the long-term payoff. And be aware that this will be the general theme for some time to come, as long as conservative Saturn occupies your solar 2nd House of finances. During the course of the full moon, keep your nose to the proverbial grindstone. Co-workers are likely to follow suit, so set an example rather than mirror what you see. Once the 13th rolls around, you can give yourself permission to do some primping. Your spark shines brightly once again and admirers can’t help but lavish praise upon you. By the 26th you’ll notice the return of your sharp wit. Risk taking is easier on the 14th and 15th, the 24th and 25th.

Virgo:

Your close circle of friends will be your top priority in the weeks to come. Perhaps there is someone in your midst who is in need of some nurturing or a little hand-holding. They are in need of your support to get them emotionally on keel. Just be sure the line is drawn when it comes to them sucking you dry emotionally. Share with them your sense of history, of having learned to take things a day at a time, rather than worrying about what may or may not come down the pike. Thanks to Mars having just entered your sign, you have ample energy to spare and are conservatively parceling out your talents. Look for friends to provide you with input between the 11th and the 26th, after which you’ll be ready to give yourself a breather. Carve out time for reflection from the 26th forward. You’ll be so much more productive as a result, so don’t start feeling guilty that you’re wasting time. Guardian angels become watchful as of the 12th, so if you need a fallback option, it should be available for the asking. As the moon reaches fullness on the 18th, you’ll find yourself playfully productive. If there is someone with whom you’d like to strike up a romantic relationship, make serious overtures at this time. Focus on the pragmatic world on the 7th and 8th, the 16th through 18th and the 26th and 27th. Pace yourself on the 5th and 6th, and then again the 1st and 2nd of August.

Libra:

Keep your ears finely tuned to the moods of your higher-ups and expect those moods to vary according to what happens to be in the air at the time. There will definitely be those days when folks get up on the wrong side of the bed, so be aware. Don’t be surprised if your job description undergoes a temporary adjustment, possibly because you’re the one best suited to get out and about and mingle with the common folk. Take this as flattery rather than a burden. Unless critical, you’re better off waiting until the 11th before offering your own two cent’s worth, professionally speaking. Decision makers will be much more receptive and your ideas will be accepted as timely. From the standpoint of physical energy, be conservative. Placing too many irons in the fire is not in your best interest. You’re better off hoarding your energy for the time being, so don’t feel compelled to play Superman, or Superwoman. If you do, you’ll no doubt pay the price. Friends demonstrate considerable heartfelt loyalty as the month progresses – accept their gifts graciously, because you’ve earned them. Compromise is in the air on the 9th and 10th. Creativity looms larger the 19th and 20th. Expect restlessness to crop up around the 28th and 29th and keep your eye on geographically distant locations. Share your political insights starting the 26th.

Scorpio:

Do you feel the urge to go back to school and study something that seems to be nagging at you? We’re not talking about carving out the next several years of your life. But your curiosity seems to be peaked and it’s high time you satisfy your hunger for learning. Even if it’s something that may morph as time goes on, at least it will be helpful to give yourself a foundation on which to build. Your curiosity may take you on the road, exploring different cultures, their heritage and history. This is most fitting and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how receptive you are to grabbing hold of new knowledge. Starting the 13th, you may find your preferences in conflict with those around you. Accept that for what it is rather than try to persuade them to come around to your perspective. As of the 27th, this will hold true for the opinions voiced by others. You’ll be wasting your breathe if you try to talk them into your way of thinking. Appreciate that the ball is in your court the 11th through the 13th. Your gut instincts will be on the mark the 30th and 31st.

Sagittarius:

Pay close attention to those gut instincts and inner voices, especially those that emanate from your dreams, as well as the urgings of others. We’ve all had those experiences in which, over the course of a short period of time, we find the same suggestion popping up from a variety of disparate sources. If you believe that nothing happens by accident, take the hint that these suggestions are most timely and should not be ignored. You’ll find foreigners receptive to you as of the 12th, and may see travel picking up around the 26th, which is most likely music to your roam-loving ears. Troubleshooting is essential on the career front. Get together with the powers that be to iron out any glitches, obvious or otherwise. It will make for much smoother sailing down the road. Keep on eye out for the full moon to bring an added expenditure. Go the conservative, practical route if at all possible. The sky is the limit the 14th through the 16th. Focus on flirtation the 22nd through the 25th. And know that you’ll be well protected, should you opt to travel over the holiday weekend surrounding the 4th.

Capricorn:

The new moon falls in your opposing sign of Cancer, making it incumbent upon you to accommodate the needs of others during the weeks ahead. Listen carefully to the words of your partner, your counterparts and your competitors. If you fail to take their perspectives into consideration, don’t come crying to me when your strategy fails. Forewarned is forearmed, as we say in this business. You’re in good standing for negotiating between the 11th and the 26th. If you’re holding your breath in anticipation of money owed to you, hold out your palm instead as of the 13th. A lot is going on, outside your local turf, so keep a great deal of your attention focused away from home. And the folks at a distance are certainly speaking your language, so you don’t have much explaining to do. Just provide the outline and they’ll fill in the rest with remarkable efficiency. The 6th through the 8th are significant in that regard. The full moon falls in your sign on the 18th, at which time it may be difficult not to wear your heart on your shirt sleeve, so don’t bother trying to hide it. The 26th and 27th will prove fertile when it comes to patiently steering your ship toward your goals.

Aquarius:

Productivity is the name of the game these days, so don’t be surprised if you’re working overtime. This includes your daily work as well as your domestic chores, so embrace that “honey-do” list with passion. You have few excuses to fall back on and Mercury is not retrograde. So put on your favorite tunes to get yourself in just the right mood, and go to town. If you play your cards right, your motivation might just rub off on those around you, meaning you’ll able to solicit assistance when needed. Legal and contractual negotiations work to your benefit from the 13th forward, and the other side is receptive to putting things in writing as of the 26th. If you’re lucky enough to remember your dreams, take note of the nitty-gritty details such as numbers and colors. They will prove significant as time passes. Look to other lands the 9th and 10th and give the inner child permission to come out and play the 28th and 29th. Take initiative the 19th and 20th, but lay low during the course of the full moon.

Pisces:

The cosmos is giving you divine permission to set foot in your sandbox, which should make you happy. After all, you’re one of the more creative and artistic signs of the zodiac, so much comes naturally to you. Should the tortured artist scenario befall you, use these emotionally charged times to pour your heart and soul into your work. There will be no greater therapy. You appear to be quite driven to keep busy, so seize the momentum. If you work around others, you’ll notice a strong sense of loyalty emanating from them, not to mention motivation to complement your creative urges. Accept their contributions with gratitude – they will respond favorably to sincere recognition and flattery. As the month progresses, you’ll find it difficult to get your mind off your work. Commit to taking walks periodically to keep the ideas fresh. Be aware of the fact that your work should be a coordinated effort, so solicit feedback from others. And when dealing with personal relationships, expect a few tempers to flare up. It’s only natural. Expect the 11th through the 13th to highlight your creative instincts. Let your imagination run wild between the 21st and 23rd. Reserve the 30th and 31st for play.
