Merc Alert for April 2010 Mercury Retrograde

Mercury enters shadow: April 4, 2010 ~ 4:06 a.m. ET
Mercury goes Retrograde: April 17, 2010 ~ 11:05 p.m. ET
Mercury goes Direct: May 12, 2010 ~ 5:27 p.m. ET

Aries:

Pay close attention to your finances during this retrograde. The good part is that this is ideal for sifting through financial documents and for making headway toward getting your financial picture in order. It may take until Mercury goes forward before you’re able to get everything sealed up. In the meantime, exercise caution when making financial transactions and do your best to avoid any major purchases. If you have no choice, opt for reliability and dependability. Go for durability first, price second. As always, hold on to all documentation and make sure you have a fallback, such as a reasonable return window.

Taurus:

As far as you can tell, you’re speaking clearly. The problem is, others don’t seem to understand you. Therefore, you need to be as concrete as possible. Draw diagrams, provide maps – do whatever it takes to be sure that the message you’re communicating is anything but ambiguous. Don’t be surprised if you’re feeling less than sure-footed. If so, don’t push yourself to finalize decisions. The chances are you’ll change your mind in a short while when new information surfaces. If you’re being pushed for an answer, tell those who are asking that you simply aren’t ready. If they won’t take “no” for answer, cover your behind and let them know that whatever information you do provide is subject to change. As soon as Mercury goes direct, you’ll know that you’re on the right path, but not a minute before.

Gemini:

You are by far the most communicative of all the signs of the zodiac. You’ve never met a conversation to which you couldn’t contribute. Right now the conversations that you want to pay the most attention to happen to be the ones floating around in your inner mind. Those internal voices are demanding an audience and you’d best pay attention. There are things you need to wrap up. Focus on the finishing touches. It’s premature to start things anew right now. You’ll benefit from hearing what others have to say but do not feel compelled to add your two cents’ worth. It’s more than likely to fall on deaf ears anyway. Besides, you still need to mull things over before letting others know where you stand.

Cancer:

Friends and colleagues from yesterday seem to be crawling out of the woodwork. If they’re not contacting you, then you need to take the initiative and contact them. You know good and well who they are. They’ve been knocking on your gray matter and it’s time to let them in. And in dealing with friends with whom you have regular contact, be sure you’re clear-minded when communicating with them. Be sure you hear what they are saying to you. The concern is that there may be some lingering issues that need to be cleared up and some of your friends may not feel like they every really got straightened out, at least not in their own mind. Nip it in the bud before things start to fester.

Leo:

Pay close attention to your communications with the powers that be. First off, don’t be surprised if folks like bosses or other sorts of decision makers are totally incommunicado. If they are available to you, the chances are that they’re not in a frame of mind to give you clear cut answers. They may very well be awaiting information themselves and therefore have their hands temporarily tied behind their backs. If that is the case, don’t push them. There’s also the possibility that they are simply dragging their feet. If so, drop one subtle hint. Anything beyond that is apt to get their goat. Instead, focus on revamping projects already on your plate.

Virgo:

One of the many hats you wear is that of instructor. It looks like you’re in the process of fine-tuning some lesson material. Perhaps the big boys upstairs want to see what you’ve been up to. They might want to emulate what you’ve put together. Hats off to you! Another possibility is some sort of project that involves folks at a distance. If so, it looks like they need a little patient hand-holding to get them up to speed. Just be aware that they’re not as familiar with this stuff as you are. So, it might take them a while to catch on to what you’re conveying. The good news is that once they get it, they really get it.

Libra:

Are you in the midst of sorting out the complexities of a financial relationship? If so, be patient. This isn’t something that either of you ventured into overnight, so it’s going to take some time to work out all the kinks. Whatever you do, don’t rush it. You won’t get nearly as much out of the bargain if you do and you’ll only end up kicking yourself later. If the other side is taking their sweet time, there’s probably not much you can do other than to point out to them that time is money and they’re wasting some of both. All parties should be ready to come to the table with firm numbers by the time Mercury has righted himself.

Scorpio:

Pay close attention to contractual issues. There are several possibilities afoot. One is that you’re in the midst of renegotiating. The other side might very well be testing your patience, but showing your hackles won’t help. You’re almost better off acting like you don’t care. You’ll be amazed at the power of reverse psychology. If you’re thinking about revisiting a contract, this is the time to get a couple of different opinions as to your most effective game plan. The folks you’re consulting tend to lean toward the conservative side, so take that into consideration as you weigh your options. Once you’ve thoroughly examined all possibilities, plan to move ahead shortly after Mercury goes forward. Results are more likely to line up in your favor.

Sagittarius:

There’s something on your plate at work that is in need of revamping. It’s entirely possible that you or your co-workers have been putting this off for some time, and now it is crunch time. Unfortunately ignoring it didn’t make it go away, so you might as well address this head-on and get it done and over with. It will probably take more time than you had originally counted on, so don’t count those chickens just yet. The good news is, once you’ve got all the kinks worked out, you won’t have to bother with this for a long time to come. On the health front, this is not the best time to have medical tests performed. They’re more likely to come back inconclusive, necessitating a re-do.

Capricorn:

When is the last time that you carved out some good old-fashioned play time? If you have to scratch your head to remember, then it’s obviously been way too long. Take thee to your hobby room and see what awaits. Then invite your favorite playmates. If you’re single, this is a fine time for reconnecting with someone from your past. Rest assured that this person is not contacting you out of convenience. They haven’t been able to get you off their mind and probably never will. Just take your time about picking things up where you left off. If they’ve waited this long, they can wait a bit longer.

Aquarius:

It’s time to do some serious spring cleaning. Apparently there are some piles of clutter that are screaming out for attention. They’ve been sitting there for so long that they’ve almost set down roots. Before they become totally root-bound, you’d best free them up. Look at it this way: You haven’t touched that stuff in forever, so what makes you think you really need to keep it hanging around, other than for sentimentality purposes. OK, so you won’t opt to trash it all, because you found something totally useful. But the other stuff? Away with thee!

Pisces:

Are you guilty of hoarding paperwork? Do you have magazines sitting around from last fall? Sift through the accumulation. Listen to that inner voice that tells you which ones to open and which ones are ready for the recycle bin. The ones that are going to stick around need to be filed away in their appropriate places. Some will come in handy immediately, if not for you, then for a sibling or family member. Deliver them to their appropriate destination. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by what arrives in the mail in return, as a result of your releasing.
