Dear Family and Friends:

Many seem to believe that the flip of the calendar to January 1st makes for an automatic change in our lives. Regardless of how many Januarys you’ve seen come in; the excitement usually fades alongside our resolve to accomplish the goals we set for ourselves at the beginning of a new year. The answer is not found in willpower or wishful thinking, but in what Paul explained as a transformation of a renewed mind (Romans 12:2).

Any change that we desire or anticipate must come from within. Each of us has to change the way we think in order to experience the success God has destined us to have. I contend that if this year is to be different from our other New Years’ then “thinking for a change” is imperative. With a focus on our progress instead of perfection and on long term goals in lieu of short term resolutions, 2012 WILL be different!

Action-oriented thinking, guided by God, allows the excitement and promise of New Year’s Day to be ours all year through. In addition, it postures us to fulfill the plans God has designed for us; plans to prosper, protect and provide.

I have declared that this is the year of bountiful blessings for glorifying and expanding the kingdom of God with excellence. I implore you to believe with me in the promises of our God. A blessed New Year for each of you is my prayer.
