On Wednesday, we had tickets to the Queen's Gallery, a specialcollection of the royal treasury made available for public viewing for the Golden Jubilee. We also went to see the Royal Mews, the queen's stable and garage.Sadly, I was not allowed to take any pictures in the Queen's Gallery.

One of the "minor" gates at Buckingham Palace.
Looking down the Mall from the Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace. St. James Park is on the right and the aptly named Green Park is on the left.
While the queen has some six state coaches, this is the State Coach. Used for the most formal of occasions, this is by far the most ornate, a sort of rolling golden statue.
A slightly closer view of the State Coach. You can see the work done on the golden statues that adorn it.
One of the nine painted panels on the State Coach. The statues and painted images harken back to the mythology of England as ruler of the seas and its descendancy from the ancient gods of the seas.
