Date Loaf

 

Ingredients

 

 

3 cups

Sugar

1 cup

Evaporated Milk

½ cup

Dates

2 Tbs.

Oleo

1 cup

Pecans

1 pinch

Salt

 

Mix sugar and milk. Bring to a rolling boil. Add dates. Bring to boil again. Lower fire and cook to soft ball stage. Remove from fire. Add oleo and nuts. Cool and pour onto wet towel or cheesecloth. Using wet towel, roll mixture back and forth to shape into a loaf. Let harden and slice.
