South Carolina law states, "compulsory school age begins
at five years of age before September first
until...seventeenth birthday" or graduation from high school
or homeschool five-year-olds may be excused from
kindergarten with submission of written notice to school
district or membership in an association such as TUAH.

The homeschool parent-teacher (primary instructor) must
be the parent(s) or guardian of the student. Grandparents,
extended family members, neighbors, friends or other
acquaintances do not usually fall into the category of parent
or guardian, unless court ordered.

(our board and staff consists of currently homeschooling
parents.)
