Lucy has completed the requirements for her Bronze Mediallion for Special Merit in the Field from the Jack Russell Terrier Association of America. To achieve her honor, Lucy successfully worked Opposum, Raccoon and Groundhog. Lucy continues to be my main hunting dog. She is great help with introducing young terriers to quarry.
When Lucy was a pup she was always getting into something she should not be into. Her ability to find trouble and outgoing personality reminded me of Lucille Ball's character from I Love Lucy. Lucy just kind of fits her, so the name stuck.
Lucy was intended to be my mother’s companion. I had decided to spay Tess. However I decided to mate Tess for the second time when mom and dad lost their Fancy from the first Petie X Tess litter. Lucy turned out to not be couch potato compatible. Lucy has her Tess’s good nose and loves to go hunting. At 9 months she located and bolted (over my face) a big old possum. Lucy finished her JRTCA Bronze Medallion this fall. Lucy earned certificates to Raccoon, Opossum and Ground Hog.
Lucy was bred to Rant the fall of 2000. She produced three balanced, square pups in this litter. Lucy has been bred to Whiteheads' Dylan of Tarascon. Lucy is due in late May '02.
