Distance: 5 miles
Directions from town to colony: Take route 53 east from Granville, cross the bridge over Martin's Creek and go 0.5 mile to Holleman's Bend Road on the left. Turn left and go to the boat ramp at the end of the road (c. 3 miles). Scope directly across the Cumberland River. Nests are in tall deciduous trees directly across or a bit downriver from the boat ramp at the end of Holleman's Bend Road.

Description.
    General Description:
Site is a bottomland hardwood forest along the Cumberland River.

History.
     This colony has been active for several years, but has been smaller than it was this year, when it contained the highest number of nests, at least until March (see below)..

Comments: Some problems occurred in this heronry in late March and it became almost inactive or was in fact entirely inactive by mid-April. I suspect disturbance from boaters/hunters, but can't be sure.
