Comments: Most (c. 15) of the nests in this colony were located high on the hill to the northeast of the marina, but these nests all proved to be inactive this year, and only nests (c.4-5) on the shore of the inlet where the marina is located proved to be active. The nests high on the hill were apparently nests used in an earlier season, probably 2007, as a result of some problem with or failure in another colony on the lake. There are many colonies on the lake, far more than I know. Carol D. Williams may have photos of this colony; if not, I can make a point of getting photos during 2009.
