        How Obtained: Estimated the distance to the heronry from three locations. Used GIS in aerial photo.

Nearest City/Town: LaGrange
Distance: 1.2 miles
Directions from town to colony: Site is 1.2 miles west of intersection of Yaeger Road and Highway 57. This is south of Highway 57 approximately 0.6 mile as the crow flies.
Owner: Formerly Charlie Rodgers. The property (750 acres) will be sold on June 15. New owners indicated no changes will be made to the property.

Description.
    General Description:
Heronry on north edge of a manmade lake, just north of swampy area adjacent to the Wolf River. North edge of the lake is lined with cypress trees.

Comments: April 29 - Pair of Bald Eagles are seen several times a week in the area. We walked around the lake and noted 61 species of birds. Some snags dot the area around the cypress trees (Purple Martin 3, Tree Swallow 30, Northern Rough-winged Swallow 15, and Barn Swallow 5). The area to the south of the lake is dense swamp, bottomland forest to the Wolf River. Bottomland forest is to the south of the river.
