Directions from town to colony: The nest tree is behind Midland Center. Park in the Maryville Greenway lot below the spillway. Take the trail to the left over the foot bridge. In 0.25 mile there is a sign where the Maryville and Alcoa Greenways meet. Continue past the sign approximately 200 feet and stop about 10 feet before an elevated manhole on the right. The nest is in a tree on the left approximately 50-70' above the creek.

Comments: April 6 - Last year's nest fell apart. Today, one adult was placing a stick on the new nest on the same limb as last year's. The nest was still small, not ready for incubation of eggs. The other adult was standing in the creek about 300 feet from the nest. June 23 -
