Distance: 9 miles
Directions from town to colony: From intersection of U.S. 129 and Louisville Road in Alcoa, go west on Louisville Road approximately 9 miles and turn right at gas station. Follow this road approximately 1.5 miles past dairy barns to stop sign on Lowes Ferry Road. Turn left and follow Lowes Ferry Road approximately to entrance gate at Scenic Point. Park in pull off and nest tree is approximately 350 yards to the left beyond the last boathouse.

Comments: April 8 - Six adults were standing on nests and one adult observed flying in with sticks. May 8 - Young in two nests were large, exhibited coloration, and were flapping their wings. Adult fed young in highest once while I was there. Young in two other nests were noticeably smaller and appeared uniformly brown with an adult present at the nest. May 22 - Two nests have noticeably smaller young that the other four nests. An adult flew into tree to left of nesting tree and appeared to be building a nest. On adult flew in to feed young.
