| Comments: Majority of colony was surveyed from across Cumberland River. All nests were in sycamore trees except for one tulip poplar. There were 3 adult and 6 first-year Double-crested Cormorants standing in a tree that had 4 active Great Blue Heron nests in it and no other nests. [Note: In that only one survey was made, it was possible the cormorants had not begun to nest.] There are two trees with nests on the east side of the river (Tennessee Clay Target Complex side), and the rest are on the west side along the bank of the river. |
